UPCOMING EVENT TO RESULT IN ROAD CLOSURES
On September 18, 2010, from 8:00AM until 11:00AM, the I M ABLE FOUNDATION will be holding a duathon in the Borough. This will result in numerous street closures as follows:
READING BOULEVARD - From Logan Avenue to Lake Avenue.
EVANS AVENUE - From Reading Boulevard to Parkside Drive North.

The Wyomissing Police Department recently received a grant from the Pennsylvania Department of Economic Development for $20,000 to fund purchasing six (6) wheel load weighing devices (scales).
The Spring Township, West Reading, and Wyomissing Police Departments are joining forces to conduct a Citizen’s Police Academy. The program will run from September 28, 2010 until November 17, 2010. The hours will be from 6:30 PM until 9:00 PM.
The Boroughs of Sinking Spring, West Reading and Wyomissing and the Township of Spring in cooperation with the West Side Regional Emergency Management Agency is pleased to introduce CodeRED™. The CodeRED™ Emergency Notification System is an extremely Fast Communication Service available for mass Emergency Notifications. CodeRED™ employs a one-of-a-kind Internet mapping capability for geographic targeting of calls, coupled with a high speed telephone calling system capable of delivering customized pre-recorded emergency messages directly to homes and businesses, live individuals and answering machines, at the rate of up to 60,000 calls per hour.
